“God-Like Love”

Rev. Michael Nixon

Father Nixon will discuss the vocation of marriage as it is presented in Scripture and in the teachings of Pope St. John Paul II. The family is our first encounter with what it means to love and to be loved, to experience God’s love for us. Father will also discuss how prayer provides an opportunity for spouses and children to have that encounter with God that empowers us to share His love with one another.

11:20 am – 12:20 AM

"Learning to Pray Together as Spouses: Three Simple Steps"

Christopher J. Stravitsch, D.Min., LPC, LMFT

Saint John Paul II taught that families have a “priestly mission” which includes living a life of prayer together in the home—husband and wife together, parents and children together. Yet, most spouses do not pray outside of the Mass and would likely say they do not know how. In this presentation, Dr. Chris Stravitsch will share three simple steps couples can follow to begin or to deepen their prayer life together.

12:30pm - 2:00pm

Lunch, Ministry Highlight & Prayer

  • Sacrament of Reconciliation (12:30 pm)

  • Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament (1:00 pm)

  • Benediction (1:45 pm)

  • Marriage blessing (1:45 pm)

“Spouses on a Mission: Prayer and Holiness in the Midst of Family Chaos”

Danielle Bean, Publisher, Catholic Digest

Danielle will explore living as a community of prayer in the day-to-day realities of family life. What impact on your family life does praying together with your kids have? What fruit is borne from praying together? How does family prayer leave an impression that the future events in their lives will never be able to take away? Realistic, moving, and funny stories will illustrate the key lessons of the presentation. You will be equipped, inspired, excited, and shown a realistic vision of living a life of holiness and prayer amid the ups and downs of family life.
