“How to Nourish Love in the Family”
Arland K. Nicholas, President, St. John Paul II Foundation
“Thank you”, “I’m sorry”, “Excuse me” – Pope Francis has said these three statements are essential for marriage and family life. Gratitude is a foundation for love in family life, reconciliation heals family relationships when we inevitably fall short of love, and service becomes love in action. Arland Nicholas will draw from the wisdom of our Holy Fathers, past and present, as he teaches us how to nourish love in the family.

"Why Men Must Rise Up as Spiritual Leaders” (for men)
Arland K. Nichols, President, St. John Paul II Foundation
Now more than ever men are called to rise up for the awesome responsibility of being spiritual leaders in their homes and in society. This talk will explore the challenges and battles men face today and the courage and witness of great men who have fought similar battles in ages past. How can we be strengthened as men, husbands and fathers to fight the good fight? How can you become the man God calls you to be? He will address the importance of learning and living the virtues of a Christian disciple within the family. He will also discuss how the family is an image of the Trinitarian God.
“Blessed and Beautiful” (for women)
Danielle Bean, Publisher, Catholic Digest
This talk is a look at motherhood -- what St. John Paul II called “every woman’s vocation” -- as contrasted with cultural messages about femininity. In a world that tells us acts of self-giving love and sacrifice are signs of weakness, how can we understand the paradox of motherhood as the source of our strength, dignity, and worth? How can we combat personal feelings of uselessness and worthlessness as we fully embrace our call to be wives and mothers for a new generation? We examine some of the ways in which the inspiring, accessible teachings of St. John Paul II helps us understand the gift of femininity and every woman’s call to greatness.
“More Love in Your Marriage”
Danielle Bean, Publisher, Catholic Digest
This talk walks us through some important guidelines for nurturing a deeply committed and loving relationship with your spouse, through all stages of marriage. With a focus on practical support and encouragement, we take on specific challenges (large family stresses, infertility, unemployment, family illness and special needs) with advice for nurturing your spousal relationship, protecting your marriage, and thriving in the face of challenge.
